Migrating off Vibe Kanban?

Vibe Kanban gave thousands of developers their first taste of orchestrating multiple coding agents from one board. With Bloop's wind-down announced in April 2026, the project moved to community maintenance — and many of its users are now looking for an actively developed home for the same workflow.

wmux covers the same job with a different center of gravity: instead of a kanban board over headless executors, it is a workspace multiplexer — your agents are live terminal panes you can watch, interrupt, and talk to, grouped into workspaces with a fleet cockpit, channels, and git worktree fan-out built in.

* Live terminal access to each agent: Vibe Kanban drives agents as executors behind cards; wmux gives every agent a real PTY pane you can type into at any moment.

What Vibe Kanban got right

  • The kanban mental model — a queue of agent tasks you triage — was a genuinely good idea, and the project stayed agent-agnostic from day one.
  • It is still open source; the community fork continues under a permissive license.

What you get by moving to wmux

  • The same fan-out: one prompt → up to 8 tasks, each in its own worktree with its own agent pane and a private mission channel.
  • A harvest step Vibe Kanban never had: side-by-side diffs where you tick the hunks you want and adopt them in one atomic git apply — or open a PR in one click.
  • Fleet View: every agent across every workspace in one panel, blocked ones floated to the top, with a unified approval inbox.
  • A daemon that keeps terminal processes running when the app closes, with saved workspaces and agent conversations available for recovery after an OS reboot.
  • Native Windows and macOS apps, auto-updating, MIT-licensed.

If the board itself was the part you loved, the community fork of Vibe Kanban still exists. If what you actually needed was the outcome — many agents working in parallel, safely, with a fast way to review and land the good parts — wmux is built for exactly that, and it ships every week.
